On Thursday, May 17th at 3:00 PM (EST), Dr. Tom Miller will offer a webinar exclusively for clergy couples entitled: Caring for the Dying: Listening to God. As clergy couples, we are often called upon to be with parishioners and their families when they face serious illness and are stripped of their own resources. Such situations are opportunities to be the face of Christ in some of the most difficult circumstances people encounter in their lives.
In this webinar, Dr. Tom Miller will discuss: how we might approach these times with faith and confidence, managing the expectations of medical professionals and parishioners with sensitivity to their particular cultural assumptions; and, how clergy and their wives can manage the stress of this ministry.
Dr. Miller has been a family physician for 40 years, working in multiple settings, including overseas missions in Tanzania and Albania. In the last 15 years, he has worked exclusively in hospice and palliative medicine in Lancaster, PA. He and his wife, Jill (a registered nurse working with hospice patients), converted to Orthodoxy as a result of meeting and being exposed to the ministry of Fr. Luke Veronis when they were Mennonite missionaries in Albania and Fr. Luke was serving there as a long-term missionary. They attend Annunciation Greek Orthodox in Lancaster, PA.
This is a webinar you will not want to miss, as it has relevance for both our personal lives and ministry. During the webinar, Dr. Miller will allot time throughout his presentation for questions from participants.
If you cannot make the live webinar, it will be archived for your viewing one week after it is presented.
