In the article, “The Orthodox Clergy Wife,”  Matushka Valerie Zahirsky, explores the “position” of the clergy wife, beginning the article with the question, “What does it mean to have a wonderful title, and no real job description?”  This is an article worth reading, as it provides a particular perspective based on the life experience of the author.  I would encourage a “critical” reading of such an article, as all of us who are privileged to have the title of presvytera, matushka, khouria, etc., are different people with different perspectives on this “position” we have.  We would do well to find the commonalities of what we all share and respectfully recognize and honor our differences.  Please consider reading this as a couple and discuss.
